6pm - From Galicia to the world

2003 - a fortuitous encounter in the Conservatory of Santiago de Compostela leads Raul Mon and Ivan Oubiña to meet again one sunny afternoon to explore their musical affinities. After a couple of demos, last August they finish recording on their home studio their most ambitious work so far, "Far from perfect", a scent of the refined Morr cuisine simmering on an electronic base.

Everyday Antimatter

Antimatter - a mirror image of matter - is an idea so revolutionary that even its discoverer initially feared its consequences. It annihilates with ordinary matter, disappearing in a puff of energy - the ultimate scientific experiment.

This annihilation is a compelling scenario for science fiction. The first example was robots with brains having antimatter pathways.

Now antimatter is used every day in medicine for brain scans.

The excitement caused by the discovery of the positron in 1932 was felt beyond the scientific world: science fiction writers were quick to exploit the new discovery as an attractive plot device. Their imagination produced visions of antiworlds, antistars and antiuniverses, all made entirely of antimatter. Some foresaw matter-antimatter annihilation as the most powerful source of energy in the cosmos, for the propulsion of starships that could travel faster than light.

While science fiction is entertaining, it is not science. Lawrence Krauss' book 'The Physics of Star Trek' is a constructive criticism of antimatter science fiction.er fuel for real.

7 Days 7 Weeks By dEUS

dEUS are unlikely to ever achieve the creative peak they scaled on 1996's sublime 'Little Arithmetic's' again. Ever. However, new single '7 Days, 7 Weeks' comes mighty close. The usual combination of diamond-rough vocals and sweet melodies, dEUS here further spice their Scandanavian-pop with some multi-harmonies and female backing to create a sound which straddles the line between winsome indie and serrated rock to perfection. Also backed up by a couple of newies.

Was Philip K. Dick a precog?

K.Dick had a talent for showing the funny or ironic side of his creations. In this story Barney and Roni, both precogs, foresaw that they would be lovers as soon as they met, so naturally they decided to skip the preliminaries and get on with it.

I read this book last week, and I think that it’s really quite good.

This book was written in 1964; time enough for Dick to see astronauts carrying their own cooling units when climbing into rockets. It is a considerable leap to see how they might be used in global warning.

Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood

I really love these guys. Not just because they combined hip hop with electronica, two genres I’m not fussed by, and actually got good music out of it. I also love them because, despite there being 4 cartoon members in the band, there are only 2 people behind them, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. These 2 have taken their anonymity to such an extent that they no longer even appear on stage for live performances, which obviously would be terrible if all bands did it, or if it was done badly, but the Gorillaz do it brilliantly.

ERASERHEAD

This is where is the Lynchian nightmare began. Though he may have redefined surrealistic cinema in the 1980s and forever altered the face of television in the 90s, for many hardcore fans it is this infamous feature film debut that is David Lynch's crowning achievement. Many words have been used to describe Eraserhead (weird, bizarre, frustrating, enlightening, significant, unwatchable, meaningless, and momentous), but there is no denying it is completely unforgettable. As a surreal work of art, Eraserhead easily holds it own next to the works as Buñuel, Cocteau, and Dali. And like many surrealistic works, there is no clear answer on what Eraserhead "means." But, if you are trying to find a simple, linear, plot in Eraserhead, you are clearly missing the point. For Eraserhead is not simply a movie to view, but a true cinematic experience, like jumping into someone's nightmare and seeing it from their perspective. Whether you see it as a meditation on the terror of being a new parent, the suffocating feeling of living in an increasingly vapid, industrial wasteland, or a nightmare about the fear of loneliness, the film easily holds up to multiple viewings. And since this film is a dark visual ride and a supreme aural achievement, this long awaited, new transfer is an absolute blessing for David Lynch fans who will finally get to see, hear and experience Eraserhead clearly on DVD. Bizarre experiment? Surrealistic nightmare? Or a meaningless cult film? You be the judge.

Blade Runner - Tears in rain

It´s hard to find a good, touching sci-fi film these days, and Blade Runner sent shock waves, raising the eternal question: what is humanity?. Phillip K. Dick lives forever and praise Ridley Scott for delivering his views so well.

(Roy's speech: "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die". )

Chaos Theory

Chaos Theory can be generally defined as the study of forever-changing complex systems. Discovered by a meteorologist in 1960, chaos theory contends that complex and unpredictable results will occur in systems that are sensitive to small changes in their initial conditions. The most common example of this, known as the "Butterfly Effect," states that the flapping of a butterfly's wings in China could cause tiny atmospheric changes which over a period of time could effect weather patterns in New York.

Although chaotic systems appear to be random, they are not. Beneath the random behavior patterns emerge, suggesting, if not always revealing, order. Recognizing that the stock market is a non-linear, dynamic, chaotic system Max Cohen applies the principles of Chaos Theory in order to determine the pattern behind apparent random nature of market prices.

Apart from the stock market, Chaos Theory can be used to model other highly complex systems, including everything from population growth to epidemics to arrhythmic heart palpitations. When applying chaos theory, it is revealed that even something as seemingly random as a dripping faucet has an order behind it.

1984 - Are you free?

Think about it. Cause, remember, since long time ago the history is being written by the winners of the wars and the ruling class.

Really the past is not exist
